Coco Rock // Nikki Beats
A new Shootingstar in the DJ's sky boards the clubs in the world.
If "Coco Rock" takes the Fader no dance floor remains empty, and no speaker quietly.
The Northrhine Westphalian by birth, is known for his propelling balearic Housesound. A perfectly co-ordinated mix from clubbombs and underground clubburner. „ Coco “, as him his friends call him, who gave his debut as a professional DJ during the well known Monday-radioshow of "Ministry of Sound, Germany“ with Radio Sunshine Live, provides for good mood where he only is able to.
His Bookings brought him already through some cities of Germany, but also already to the famous party island Ibiza, on which he had played in venues like the famous Blue Marlin Club or the Beach Palace in Playa den Bossa.
Since August, 2009 Coco serves the biggest German magazine for electronic music and club culture, the Raveline, as a record critic. Here he gives monthly insights into the newest tracks of his colleagues.
We may be curious which stations Coco Rock will book on his trip by the nights and the world of the electronic music.
Tom Novy // Nouveau Niveau
In an industry where DJs and producers come and go in the blink of an eye, Tom Novy has sustained a career that has stretched over 18 years to date with no sign of him slowing down anytime soon! Achieving numerous chart hits, television appearances, world-renowned residencies and underground anthems, there is not a part of the dance music world that Tom has not graced with his infectious personality and endearing sense of fun.
Hailing from Munich, Germany, Tom has been firmly established on the dance music scene since 1995 when he released his first single ‘I House You' which immediately entered the top 10 of the German Dance Chart. The following year Tom released ‘Superstar' which gained him further international recognition and held chart positions in 18 countries worldwide. 1998 saw the release of ‘I Rock', a track that cemented his place on the European dance scene and a notched up an impressive 18 weeks on the Airplay Top 100.
After spending most of the 90's honing his skills as a DJ and releasing numerous chart and club hits, 2000 was the year when Tom's career really began take off on a global level. His track ‘Pumpin' reached #19 in the UK singles chart in June of that year and earned him the chance to mix the Ministry of Sound Annual compilation, becoming the first German DJ to do so. The following year saw him release his debut artist album ‘My Definition' which perfectly showcased Tom's wide range of influences and musical styles. The hits continued to flow in 2004 with the release of ‘Lovin U' a track which touched base with listeners as far a field as South Africa where it entered the national Top 10.
For all of his massive achievements up until this point it was in 2005 and the release of ‘Your Body' featuring Mike Marshall, that Tom really struck a chord with the mainstream. The track gained the support of every major UK radio station as well as MTV and subsequently entered the singles chart Top 10 in 2006 and held a top 15 place in no less than 20 other countries. Later in the year the re-released ‘Take It' featuring Lima scored another UK hit reaching number 37 and charted in the top 30 in Germany and Australia.Tom recently remixed the mighty Snap classic ‘Rhythm Is a Dancer' and scored a number one Beatport single in 2008.
On the remix front, the calibre of artists Tom has worked with could not be higher. Global superstars such as Justin Timberlake, Yoko Ono, Ludacris, Erick Morillo, Tom Jones & Mousse T, 10CC, Snap and Sander Kleinenberg have all come in for the expert Tom Novy remix treatment.
Back in Germany, Tom's charismatic demeanour has led him to become a successful television presenter, hosting a total of four shows (three of which are on MTV). Unsurprisingly given his natural stage presence, Tom hosts a weekly radio show on egoFM and has a slot on NRJ Beirut which he has held since 2002.
It is impossible to talk about Tom Novy without mentioning Space, Ibiza where he has held a residency for an unbelievable 14 seasons.
So with continued releases of the highest quality, gigs right across the globe and his radio shows still reaching listeners far and wide, it seems like there will be many more tales to be told in the story of Tom Novy.
Tocadisco // Toca45
Some people just don`t mix with the in-crowd. These, let us call them outsiders, prefer paving their own path to Easy Street. Often just loners with an unique vision, simply set to make difference in a somewhat unconventional way. Of course this “detour” might cause a slight delay, but nonconformists are usually not in a great hurry to get anywhere special. Their sole purpose is to get the job done exactly in the manner they intended to. Maybe this is one of the reasons why Tocadisco chose to live in Cologne, Germany. Well-known for its underground minimal sound, yet far from being the axis of modern day contemporary culture. Perfect for an artist to silently work in solitude, not facing the daily distractions of the overwhelming opulence of a boom town such as New York, London, Madrid.
Here near the Rhine river Roman B. started his prosperous musical career at a very young age. Based on the immediate success in the closer region, Tocadisco chose to turn his passion into his profession. Learning by doing is certainly this mans motto. Within an extremely short period of time the studio wizard taught himself how to record and produce tracks. No teachers, no musical education and no annoying guidelines. Soon after the prodigy already released his first single “Nobody Likes The Records That I Play” on Superstar Records. This more than unusual club-hit was his breakthrough anthem. A worldwide tour ensued, which led to an even more auspicious year 2005. His remix for the Mylo 12 inch “In Your Arms” became one of the most played records during the summer of 2005.
From then on his phone didn`t stop ringing, stupendous remixes for various artists succeeded. Axwell & Ingrosso, the Egg, A`Studio, ATB, Hi-Track, Philippe B. and many many more. But that didn`t keep this workaholic from banging out another killer track. “You`re No Good For Me” was another step for yet bigger things to come. Tocadisco`s wide musical taste somehow had to be expressed through other outputs.
Logically AC/OT was born, his underground pseudonym. During 2005 he released 3 four-track EP`s containing remixes by John Dahlbäck and Martinez. It was time for another single, “Music Loud/Crazy Cursor” hit the air-waves. Simultaneously laboring on red hot remixes for New Order, Deep Dish, Pet Shop Boys, Mylo, Linus Love, Sono, Etienne Daho (in cooperation with Fishersponner), Flatpack, Boosta, Funkwerkstatt, M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Booka Shade, Enigma, Sharam from Deep Dish, Moby and the list goes on and on! Numerous outputs dominated the club scene globally, but Tocadisco`s the Egg rework of “Walking Away” has to be considered as one of the biggest releases of that year. MIXMAG called it the “biggest Dance Single of 2006”.
David Guetta even used the instrumental version of the remix for an official bootleg version of his first hit “Love Don`t Let Me Go”. Television even picked up on the track, Citroen used the remix for its worldwide car add. But everybody is probably wondering by now: When will this man release his first album?! Well, let me tell you, soon! He has just finished putting the final touches on his full-length LP. “Solo” will finally be available by January 2008. The first single “Better Begin” will showcase the Sono vocalist Lennart A. Salomon. That not being enough, Tocadisco launched a new underground series: The Black Series”, expect numerous outputs under this anonym in your local record store. Selfevidently he is also still more than busy remixing artists such as Tiga, Bob Sinclar, Tommie Sunshine, Amo & Navas, Axwell, DY10, Mighty Dub Katz (Fatboy Slim) and Culcha Candela. Tocadisco also helped out David Guetta on his new album, co-producing the piece “Tomorrow Can Wait” with him.
Does this man ever take a break? I guess not, but living in Cologne, this hack has got all the time in the world to work himself to the top of the mountain. This is just the beginning.

DBN, a mash-up of three artists, musicians and dj’s, which are disposed to rough up the worlds electronic scene. And finally, the massive breakthrough single “The Nighttrain” (feat. Kadoc) creates a giant hype around DBN. After several productions and remixes for artists like Roger Sanchez, Bob Sinclar, Eric Morillo, Dirty South, Steve Angello & Laidback Luke, Norman Doray & Tristan Garner or Haji & Emanuel, DBN pops up again with their single “Asteroidz” that was re-released in may on Yoshitoshi Recordings and their current single “Stars” (in collaboration with Tommy Trash & Michael Feiner) on WePLAY Recordings. There are two ways to get in touch and fall in love with the DBN-Sound: the DJ-Set or a Live PA. It provides the freshest club-sounds and a unique live performance.
Tim Royko // Tiger Records
Tim Royko not only loves the music, he lives it downright. The dj, producer and meanwhile also labelowner, coming from Cologne (Germany), not only rocks phat productions in his studio, but you can´t come out of the astonishment, if he shoots the clubs including all guests into driving balearic spheres.
Due to his artful music selection and mixing skills, he could also excite the audience on international bookings like in Brazil, Indonesia, Russia, Portugal, Spain (Ibiza) and other countries.
Regarding to his present discography… he is a very versatile producer. In the meantime his solo productions and remixes appeared on Tiger Rec., Pacha Rec., Alphabet City Rec… to name just a few.
Since the founding of his own musiclabel “Royko Recordings”, launched together with Marie Cavah, he already released several productions….like “That Feeling”, “db”, “Phunk”, which you can find in playlists of DBN, Tapesh, Laidback Luke, D.O.N.S., Nino Anthony, Till West, Plastic Funk and many more…
His remixes, for instance the one for the Peter Gelderblom single “Waiting For” (Tiger Records) reached No.3 at the beatport charts. After several projects with other artists as with the international known “Till West” (Nothing Is Over) there is one cooperation, that beats everything before. No one less than the houselegend himself “Todd Terry” is the co-producer (Tim Royko & Todd Terry - Practise). To cap it all off, this track has been released at the Ibiza-based label „Pacha Recordings“.
His latest collaboration "Sexual Insanity" (Pacha Rec.), the follow up of "Beautiful Lie", is finally hitting the clubs. Tim Royko & Singer & Songwriter Cosmo Klein team up again.
After a long time, he is back on Tiger Records with his new single "Dreamer" feat. the great vocals from KEDIVA. Remixes coming from Patric La Funk and Timofey & Bartosz Brenes Vs. Nick Mentes.
A further detailed list of all productions at this point would be too long already, so you can see all at his discography With a view to the compilations you will hit a lot of surprises (David Guetta..s F…ck Me I..m Famous, Pacha Ibiza, Kontor..s Top Of The Clubs, Viva Clubrotation and Clubsounds etc.
Falko Niestolik // WePLAY
Born in Berlin 1978 as a son of a well known real estate manager from Hamburg, Falko Niestolik started his career about 10 years ago with a simple house and breakbeat record at his local clubs.
His first record he bought by himself, was released on the famous label “Ministry of Sound”. By purchasing this nice piece of music the cornerstone was set for his career as a DJ, producer and musician.
During school time he spent all his pocket money for the latest records, and therefore played always the hottest tracks as a DJ.
In 2004 he started his first production and remixes in a small studio in Hamburg. Initially for DJ-use only, but rumours of his talent spread quickly in the German house scene.
Over the past 3 years he produced remixes for icons such as Axwell, Steve Angello, Michael Jackson (official), Jerry Ropero, Syke ´n´Sugarstarr, Ian Carey, Chris Lake, Tom Novy, 49ers, Capella, Richard Grey, Albin Myers, Robbie Riviera & many more!
But not only the demand of his remixes increased over the years, also his own single releases such as "In My Life", “Cha Cha Cha” or “For The Love of Sound” are finding their way onto the playlists of the worlds most popular DJs including David Guetta, Bob Sinclair, Roger Sanchez and The Swedish House Mafia.
Compilation .. s with which he published each year in ZYX Music (including for Sunshine LIVE) & his weekly radio show which is broadcast worldwide, and a lot of hard work, he goes his way.
Falko is playing at all international venues with e.g. Tiesto (official support) in Vienna, David Guetta in Graz ( A ), Mousse T., Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Spiller, Tom Novy, Bob Sinclar, Paul van Dyk ... and many more, and he also played back in the U.S., Canada, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Albania, Ukraine, Belgium, Poland, Russia and Holland only in 2010.
He loves to play clubs but events like Tiesto in Vienna 2009, where he as a support act for the official party, he set more than 10.000 clubbers on fire for over 6 hours, which isn’t an uncommon thing for him to do!
Most recently Falko appeared at festivals such as Ruhr In Love, Mayday, Danue Festival ( MTV Stage Vienna ) and Nature One.
And believe me, there is much more to come!
